Well, this is something I have been putting off ever since I heard of it through sheer fear.
Starting a mailing list.
Now, these are meant to be the bees knees when it comes to getting you started or set up for a self publishing career. I was listening to a podcast about it on the Self Publishing Formula the same day it came up on Ninja Writers as the assignment for the day. And then I remembered that of course it was in John Birmingham’s How to be a Writer as well… My review on the book is here.
I am accepting the wisdom of the various writerly folks who say if you want to engage with your audience, get their email address so you can tell them things that they might like to know!
At this stage, I have nothing to offer in terms of a freebie to encourage sign up. However, I am planning out my rather ridiculous fantasy romp for NaNoWriMo. So ,if you want to be on the short list of people to read Abernath and the Mermaids’ Tears, once I have gotten it into something like coherent sense post-NaNo madness, pop your email on here for me and I will keep you up to date.
Abernath and The Mermaids’ Tears
When precious pearls are stolen from the mermaids, Abernath the griffin insists that he and the crew of the Wayfarer investigate.
Will he get to the truth when pirates, privateers, and pixies want to use him and his crew to discredit the Crown and tip the uneasy balance of the Merfolk Truce?
Sign up, hopefully, here!
And here is First Mate Tom, with Duchess the Pirate Bunny. They will be keeping me in line during NaNoWriMo.
